South Africa and Namibia have a dense net of well equipped and beautifully located camping sites, connected by an equally well maintained road network. Trip Itinerary:

Day 1 - Cape Town
South Africa – Cederberg Mountain Region.
Beach
We depart Cape Town early and in the summer, we have a quick photo stop at Blouberg Beach and bid goodbye to Table Mountain.
Bus
Then we head north to the spectacular Cederberg mountain region, home of South Africa’s well known Rooibos tea. On this first afternoon we spend some time learning about our day to day schedule on tour, the vehicle and the equipment.

Day 2 - Namibia
Namibia – Namaqualand Orange Gariep River.
Bus
We travel north through Namaqualand and head for the Orange Gariep River.
Camping
The night is spent relaxing around the campfire and getting to know one another. The Orange Gariep River forms the border between South Africa and Namibia.

Day 3 - Namibia
Orange Gariep River - Ai-Ais.
Canoeing
In the morning we have the opportunity to experience the river by canoe. Choose between a relaxing morning on the riverbank or the half-day canoe adventure.
Sightseeing
After lunch we travel north to the Ai-Ais Hot Springs, and, unless it is too hot we will be able to have an enjoyable swim here.

Day 4 - Namibia
Fish River Canyon - Kokerboom Forest.
Sightseeing
After an early breakfast our journey takes us to the mighty Fish River Canyon, second only to the Grand Canyon in size. The Fish River Canyon is a spectacular natural wonder.
Bus
After visiting the canyon we travel further inland to the Kalahari area of Namibia.
Sightseeing
On the way we will visit the Quiver Tree/ Kokerboom Forest - a wonderful opportunity for keen photographers.

Day 5 - Namibia
Bushmen Community - Namib-Naukluft.
Sightseeing
This morning those who wish to spend some time with the !Kung tribe will have the chance to do so. This activity is a local community project and all fees are payable directly to the community.
Optional Activities:
Voluntourism
African Tribal interaction.
Bus
Later we drive west towards the massive dunes of Sossusvlei where we will spend yet another peaceful night under the African sky.

Day 6 - Namibia
Namib-Naukluft National Park.
National Parks
Taking advantage of the cooler temperatures we will depart at dawn and drive into the Namib-Naukluft National Park where we will hike up Dune 45 to gain a different perspective of the desert.
Hiking
After this you have the option of a guided hike with fellow group members into Sossusvlei. Optional Activities: Guided walk with Local Expert.

Day 7 - Swakopmund
Adventure
A dramatic drive through the arid Namib-Naukluft, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn, sees us arrive at Walvis Bay. We stop to view the flamingo (if we lucky) before we head towards the seaside resort town of Swakopmund.
Adventure
Here we will be briefed on the many optional activities available for the following day. Optional Activities: Quadbiking, Sandboarding, Sky Diving, Scenic Flights, Fishing etc.

Day 8 - Swakopmund
Adventure
Your tour ends today. We do not recommend any further onward travel on this day as most people prefer to have it free to enjoy other varied adventure activities.
