You will be surprised that 95% of Nairobi city population speaks English with ease. There is serious disparity between haves' and have nots'. Very serious.Rich are extremely rich and are few. Poor population is much bigger. Then un-employment amongst youths and middle aged upto 40 years who form 65% of the population.
Forget language barrier here, everyone speaks communicable English if not perfect.Nairobi metropolitan is the most developed in East and Central Africa rival to Jor'burg in South Africa and Cairo in Egypt.
Africa is the place where you will fall in love with, everyone who comes here comes back again. Other than civil wars due leadership wrangles, this continent is blessed with huge resources and has potential. The weather is fantastic, tropical climate very favorable. Even in the backyard of Nairobi Metro we have Nairobi National Park, the only one in the world bordering a city.
Yes we pay taxes at 8-10% average but we don't utilize them well, recently the government has tried to be accountable just tried...
We need to see more of our taxes being used wisely. Democracy is still a mirage here with most leaders clinging to power to enrich themselves, sorry for telling you this honest matter but that's the truth you will see by yourself when you arrive here.
Africa is blessed with wildlife among other heritage, we would love to prosper technologically but also we want to hang on our heritage for our future generations.
Its hard balancing act. When you exit the city you will find nice fresh air out there in the plains and see for yourself how God turns the page in the jungle as its survival for the fittest, hunter and the hunted. This will be true for Africa, real Africa. The sceneries are stunning, breathtaking, the people with limited English but eager and proud in their traditional lifestyles.
Bush lodges staffs speak fluent English and other foreign languages, you will in be good company!
