The Classic Tour series hits all of the essential tour sites if a person has a limited amount of time. In this tour you will visit the City of Sails, the beaches in the north, and experience the Maori Culture. You will visit wineries and the most highly rated museum in New Zealand.
This Trip is Recommended for:
Day 1 - On the Plane
Today you leave for New Zealand. The adventure begins!
Day 2 - On the Plane
You lose this day due to the International Dateline; however you will regain it at the end of your trip.
Day 3 - Auckland
You arrive in Auckland. You will be transferred to your hotel.
Where you will have a chance to rest or get refreshed for the day.
This afternoon you will have a city sights tour of Auckland where you will visit Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World. You will also visit the Auckland Zoo, where you can enjoy a Native New Zealand Encounter show. Next sail on the Pride of Auckland sailing yacht where you can sit back and relax or try your hand at sailing. Afterwards visit the Sky Tower which is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. A light snack will be included.
Day 4 - New Zealand
Today you will travel to the Bay of Islands. Arrive in Paihia and enjoy a guided tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds where New Zealand's most important document of state was signed.
Day 5 - Auckland
Bay of Islands - Auckland.
This morning you will cruise to Cape Brett and through the famous Hole in the Rock. On your return journey stop at Otehei Bay, where you will have a chance to swim, take a walk or just relax. Then you will return to Auckland.
Day 6 - Rotorua
Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua.
Travel south to the Waitomo Caves. Experience a guided tour of the Glowworm Grotto and an underground boat ride. Continue on via Lake Karapiro to Rotorua.
Food and Dining
In the evening enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and concert.
Day 7 - Napier
Rotorua - Taupo - Napier.
This morning take a short journey to Taupo where you will take a guided highlight tour which includes Boat Harbor, Craters of the Moon and the Aratiatia Rapids. Enjoy a visit to the spectacular Huka Falls before continuing on to Napier. Tonight you will have a walking tour of Napier's fascinating Art Deco architecture.
Day 8 - Wellington
Napier - Wellington.
Enjoy a tour of some of Hawke Bay's leading wineries. After you will travel to Wellington.
Day 9 - Wellington
This morning you will have a city sights tour. This afternoon is free. This is a great opportunity to visit Te Papa which is the most highly rated museum in New Zealand. Admission is free of charge and this is a place you could spend the majority of the day. Here you will find a variety of exhibits that interest many different types of people.
Day 10 - Auckland
Wellington - Auckland.
You will have a free morning prior to your flight back to Auckland.
The rest of your day in Auckland is free giving you the opportunity to check out the shops on Queen St.
Day 11 - Auckland
Today you will fly home with a lifetime of wonderful memories.
