TRIP DESCRIPTION

I absolutely recommend a trip to Alaska! The 7 night cruise was awesome and I would urge you to include a land package as well. (Mine was 4 nights.)

Princess Cruise Lines was terrific. Beginning in Vancouver, we sailed the ‘Inside Passage” while stopping at three ports (Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan) and were treated to panoramic views and spectacular glaciers before the cruise ended near Anchorage.

At each port you must be prepared to spend money on excursions. In Juneau, I bravely boarded a helicopter that landed on a glacier and allowed me to walk and explore it. It was amazing! My other excursions included a guided motorcoach tour, a whale-watching catamaran ride, lunch at a salmon bake, sightings of bears, caribou, moose, bald eagles and more. There are so many excursions to choose from (you can book them in advance or on the ship) so there is something for everyone.

Traveling on the fabulous Alaska Railroad, with its full-domed ceilings and glass sides allows you to marvel at the spectacular natural beauty of Alaska. Nights were spent in various Princess lodges along the way. The guided bus trip through Denali National Park (Mt. McKinley), with its breathtaking views, was so awesome!

Words cannot adequately describe this trip. If you have the time, the money, and the desire for a fabulous adventure, book a vacation in Alaska. Keep in mind that you need to go in either July or August when the weather is pleasant.
