Ratings and reviews of Conway

BillyG (currently lives here; has lived here for 5-10 years):

"Conway is a very nice place to live."

Conway is the county seat for Horry County, S.C., which includes Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and other oceanfront communities. In the last 10-12 years Conway has become a retirement destination in it's own right. As the crow flies, it's about 25 miles from the beachfront. Conway is a charming town that is growing by leaps and bounds. Housing is much more affordable in Conway than it is on the coast. If you are moving here from the North or the Midwest you'll feel welcome. People here are very friendly. Many of the local businesses are owned by transplants from out of state and there are even folks from the North and Midwest in local politics. One very nice thing about Conway is the amazingly low property taxes. Currently there is a housing boom with new subdivisions being built all the time.
