Ratings and reviews of Andover

Tinavness (currently lives here; has lived here for Over 10 years):

"Love it here -- peace and quiet -- Nature abounds"

The Census info listed here is not correct. There is a "Boro" of Andover (which may be the 600+ people) that is comprised of few homes & apartments over antique shops, but that is it. There is also Andover "Township" which is the other side (rural) of town and has over 6000 people living in it (according to US Census).

I've lived in Andover Township for about 15 years and love it! As with any town in NJ, when purchasing a property it is expensive -- taxes as well. This is the only "Con" of living here. There are numerous lakes that are extremely clean and nature abounds! I love seeing deer in my yard and we are fortunate to have an amazing, free, State Park in town for fishing, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, you name it! There is a calm and peacefulness that comes with living in this area, that is not always the case living in NJ. Andover is a commutable town stores, banks, restaurants, coffee shops within a few miles. The major travelling highway is a 5 minute drive and takes you to anything else you could possibly want or need. NJ Shore points can be as short as 1 & 1/2 hour drive, and NY City even closer. Just wish the property taxes (mine at about $9000. a year for a 2000 sq foot home on under an acre) were better!
