Saddle River is a Borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 3,201. Saddle River has the second-highest per-capita income in the state. Nationwide, Saddle River ranks 28th among the 100 highest-income places in the United States (with at least 1,000 households).
Saddle River was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on November 22, 1894, from portions of Orvil Township, based on the results of a referendum held three days earlier, at the height of the Boroughitis phenomenon sweeping through Bergen County at the time.[6]
