General Information about New Albany
New Albany is a village in Franklin and Licking Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, just northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the village is located in Franklin County; only a small portion of the village extends into adjacent Licking County. The population was 3,711 at the 2000 census. However, New Albany is developing rather quickly; according to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2006 population estimates, the village had a population of 6,345.[citation needed] Founded in 1837, it is now a growing suburb in the Columbus area. The New Albany Country Club constitutes a significant portion of the village, and the golf course has 27 holes.
