Corvallis (pronounced /krvls/) is a city located in central western Oregon, USA. It is the county seat of Benton County[3] and the principal city of the "Corvallis, Oregon Metropolitan Statistical Area", which encompasses all of Benton County.
As of July 1, 2006, the city has an estimated population of 53,900.[4]

"Pretty place, Nice people, Good size town, Close to beaches, casinos etc."
We are thinking about retiring in Corvallis. We don't know anyone in Oregon so I'm a little scared to move there. The cost is better in Oregon than California. Also One of my daughters lives about 15 minutes from us and I am going to miss her if we move. BUT we could have a better quality of life in so many ways in Corvallis. We have been to Corvallis three times already and checked out many apartments. We don't want to start again with a house. Anyone have any insights for us. Bye 4 Now. Leslie-Ann

Boomerang (researched this town Within the last 5 years but decided not to live here):
"Tight rental market. Nonreceptive."
The town sounded enticing and inviting, but I was disappointed in the rental options and realized that rentals are predominated by students and corporate contractors. I found it virtually impossible to find a place to rent without waiting for an opening and impossible to plan and coordinate move. I also noticed that there are few online groups for meeting people sharing common interests in outdoor activities, which is what I would have moved to Corvallis for. I also did not find the weather as temperate as advertised.
