Layton is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. It is part of the OgdenClearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is named after Christopher Layton, a Mormon colonizer and leader. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 58,474 and by June 2006 had been estimated at 68,017[3].
