Elkins Park is an unincorporated community, portions of which are located in both Cheltenham Township and Abington Township in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (roughly 6 miles or a 20 minute drive from Center City, Philadelphia).
Elkins Park is served by SEPTA Regional Rail trains on the R1 Airport, R2 Warminster, R3 West Trenton and R5 Lansdale at the Elkins Park station. The Jenkintown, Melrose Park, and Ryers stations are also located close to the neighborhood of Elkins Park, and are served by the same regional rail lines (with the exception of Ryers, which is served by the R8 Fox Chase).
