Mount Pleasant is a village in Jefferson County, Ohio, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 535.
In 1821, Benjamin Lundy started publishing The Genius of Universal Emancipation, an abolitionist newspaper in Mount Pleasant. The paper eventually moved to Baltimore, Maryland.
