Bingham is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States that was first settled in 1785. It is named after William Bingham, a banker and politician who at one time owned two million acres (8,000 km) of land in Maine,[1] known as the Bingham Purchase.[2] The population of Bingham was 989 at the 2000 census.
