Meridian is a city in Bosque County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,491 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Bosque County[3]. The naming of Meridian is doubt since no longitudinal meridians are anywhere near the town. Local residents, as well as those in surrounding Bosque County pronounce the town's name as "Merr-EE'-dee-an" not"Merr-IDD'-ee-an." (Bosque is pronounced "BOSS'-key")
