Does anyone have any information about the Stanford University site http://folding.stanford.edu/? I have hard that if you download their screen saver you can help researchers who are trying to find cures for cancer, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other diseases. While the screen saver is running your computer downloads data from this site and processes the data for the research.

i’d like to put my down time to goood use, but i'm worried that my personal data could be compromised, or my computer could be damaged by a virus.

Why not ask the experts at The Internet Protectors (www.theinternetprotectors.com) - it's a new social networking site specifically to help people with questions about online safety and security. And it's all in regular English - no techspeak (unless you specifically want techspeak, that is!). Look forward to seeing you over there.
