My wife recently passed away at age 62. She was receiving SSDI payments. I am 63 and still working and intend to until I am eligible for Medicare at 65 (1 year 2 months to go), but might wait to 66 or older to start my SS payments, depending on the other income I have at the time. I am confused about what survivor benefits I might be eligible for now. The more I read the more confused I seem to get, probably because the death is so recent (9 days). However, I have to move on and that includes getting a solid understanding of my finances.

Am I eligible for any SSDI survivor benefits now?

Are the rules for SSDI disability survivors the same as regular SS survivor benefits.

Are SSDI survivor benefits in addition to my benefits when I retire?

Anything else I need to be concerned about?

    Thank you for any answers.
