We want to sell our 4 bedroom home and downsize to something more manageable, without so much upkeep. We’d like to try to sell our home on our own, without listing it with an agent.

Does anyone know how we can get our home included in the multiple listings without going through a realtor?

Also we’d like to hear any other tips you can give us when selling our home.

we found an agent willing to list our home in the MLS without our having to commit the listing to him. We entered “flat fee MLS” into Google and found a number of different companies that would list our home in the multiple listings.

here are a number of different pricing plans for the listing. The most basic plan runs $250 - $500 for a six month listing. Just remember to list your house at a competitive price. It may be tempting to list at a high price and think that you will come down if it doesn’t sell. but fresh listings are more appealing than stale ones.

be realistic, especially in a buyers’ market. Also, get rid of clutter.. it will make your house show better and look bigger.
