Hi Auriello,
have you looked at Homethinking's Neighborhood feature? it may give you some helpful information in your search for Charlotte neighborhoods...
for example this link: http://neighborhoods.homethinking.com/in-New-York-(Manhattan)-98-to-Charlotte-10.html
shows you what neighborhoods in Charlotte are similar to neighborhoods in Manhattan... it may guide you in the right direction if you know of Manhattan neighborhoods that you like
Good luck in your search.
Hi Auriello, me and my family's been living in Charlotte and so far the place has been good to us. You just have to be a little patient with the heavy traffic on the road though. Discovering new routes will help. This was also advised to us by the professional movers of Charlotte NC who helped us move our stuff.

My wife and I are retiring to Charlotte in Oct of this year. We've been looking at the area for two years and have settled on the University City area, We are going to look at some apt complexes. We also have spoken to a friend who lives there and she is looking for housing for us. My question is that I'm aware that some areas of Charlotte my have issues and not be where we want to live. If anyone in the Charlotte area could contact us and help with some questions it would be a great benefit.
