I'm looking for ways to save on my mother's phone bill. She frequently uses 411 because it's hard for her to read the small type in the phone book.

If she is using 411 directory assistance you should know there is a service that will give you free directory assistance. Just have her dial 1-800-FREE411. You have to listen to an ad, but at least you don't have to pay to get business or residential listings.

Also Google has a phone number to get free listings - call 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411). There is no ad and they can connect you directly. It is really easy to use, but it is just for businesses.

I also recommend Google's Free 411, like Spider said
