My daughter is due to deliver any day. The new baby will have a 5 year old brother. We want him to feel he is an important part of this "blessed event" and are looking for ways to make him feel secure and included.

Hi Kit10, When my son was 4 years old his new baby sister came home from the hospital with a very special gift for her "new big brother". In this case it was a beautiful magnet set, one worth keeping forever. He was thrilled and welcomed her into his life. He is now 24, she is 17. They are the best of friends and have been since day 1. I've suggested to friends that they bring a gift for the older child from the baby when they come home from the hospital. It has worked like a charm every time.

When doing stuff/preparing something for the new baby, try to always make him involved so he doesn't feel left behind.
