My daughter has received a lot of hand-me-down toys from friends of the family. While I know it is a wonderful gesture, I am concerned about the safety of the toys, especially considering recent product recalls. Is there an easy way to check on the child safety of children’s products?

You can call the Consumer Product Safety Commission at 800-638-2772. They know items that have been recalled and can give you contact info for the manufacturers. You can also report an unsafe product to them. They probably have a website, but I don’t know what it is.
