I am interested in training my dog to go to hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Looking for advice from someone with experience in pet therapy, either as the dog trainer or recipient.

Fabulous. IF you have a certain place you might like to ccolunteer with the dog then call the facility and ask for the "Activity Director" (if it is a nursing home you wish to volunteer at). They will be able to tell you exactly what is required and what might be the best way to go about doing this too.

Thanks Joan. My Golden Retriever is well trained and great around people of all ages - a little overhappy around other dogs. Did you go through pet therapy certification with your dog? If so, do you need to do the test with a lot of other dogs?
