My son-in-law lost his job last year and he and our daughter and 2yr old granddaughter moved in with us until they can get financially secure. We were fine wih the arrangement but now it has been 3 months and nothing appears to be happening... he occasionally goes on interviews but mostly hangs around the house. meanwhile, I keep food on the table!

I don’t want to cause a riff in the famil, but I’m afraid ill go nuts if this keeps up.what should I do?

I feel you pain! My Daughter, SIL and the two kids moved in over a year ago. Neither one working, I"m supporting them. What I am learning is that they will continue to depend on me as long as I allow it. I've decided to give them a 3 month notice right after the new year. Good luck!

You can always provide food on the table, but you can let your daughter pay some or one of the monthly bills so they'll get to realize about having a responsibility. Hopefully then, your son in law would seriously start looking for a job.

This is a tough situation but you need to talk to them. Discussing the matter will really help you. Do not go on bombarding things on them, just make a good atmosphere and let them know what you are thinking.
