Further information about Sam DeLuca:
Sabato (Sam) DeLuca is founder of Santa Fe Capital Management.
Schooled at Fordham with a Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting, he is a certified Financial Planner (CFP®) with more than 35 years experience in the financial industry.
Sam began his career with a Manhattan CPA firm and although trained in accounting and finance, he wanted to be a part of the growth of a company. Moving from Manhattan to Syracuse, he went to work for a small cable TV manufacturing firm. He worked his way through the ranks by doing industry analysis and screening for viable business partners. While working on his master's degree, computer prices became within reach of small companies, he moved the company's manufacturing system on to a computer that integrated a 300 person workforce. The system was one of the first computer integrated manufacturing systems in the US and for that he was promoted to Philips Corporate to help other manufacturing operations integrate. The money and notoriety was great but the frequent flier mileage was not. Sam found the experience deepened his need to be independent and began looking for a profession that was both challenging and rewarding.
Fascinated by economics, politics, alternate energy and how it all affects global change, Sam found financial planning and investment advising to meet that need. In 1986 Strategic Financial Planning was born. Growth and expansion led to a need to better inform clients of our capabilities, and so we evolved to Santa Fe Capital Management in 2008.
Sam is passionate about educating his clients and enjoys the responsibility of caring for them over the years. He states, "I never do anything that's better for me than for my client." He prides himself on being incredibly accurate and fairly conservative, often providing two answers for his clients; the technical answer and what he calls the "people" answer.
"The satisfaction of helping people one at a time and the ability to put my problem solving abilities to good use is all I need in a profession." Sam DeLuca
Sam has written over 100 articles on financial planning and investing in New York and New Mexico newspapers as well as his medical journal articles.
Sam and his wife Diane moved to Santa Fe in 1998 drawn by its warm people, fly fishing and a lot less snow.

Santa Fe Capital Management is a fee-only investment company as such we do not handle any commissionable products. SFCP is a firm that utilizes a personalized approach to investing. We specialize in planning, organizing, and monitoring conservative to moderate portfolios, for people looking to make long-term decisions about their wealth, retirement, estate planning and growth. Principal Sam DeLuca was noted as one of the most dependable asset managers in the southwest by Forbes Magazine (December issue, 2007). Sam emphasizes the importance of getting to know clients on an individual basis and has implemented specific steps to determine and set into action his clients goals. He attributes his success to a simple theory: "We don't outsource decision making and we don't rely on canned answers."
We know financial planning is a collaborative venture that requires open communication. Good financial planning leads the way to investments that meet our client's individual needs. We do not recommend, nor build high-risk portfolios. Our portfolio's risk profiles will be centered left and right of the risk one would take investing in the S&P; 500. We believe diversification to be the key to our investments; we simply don't put all the eggs in one basket regardless how good that basket looks.
Our clients have a vision of what they hope to achieve in life. They are successful in their careers and therefore expect success from those around them. Our clients do not have time to manage the daily details of their finances, but have clear ideas of how that management should be conducted. They intelligently seek and accept advice, ask questions, listen and make suggestions. Santa Fe Capital Management aims to assist our clients in attaining capital preservation, financial growth, and a prosperous future.
Fees and Requirements
Santa Fe Capital Management accepts no commissions on stock trades nor compensation from any institution that handles our business. Our only income is generated from the fees paid by our clients. We do require a minimum of $250,000 in investable assets.
